CELEBRATIONS

Independence Day Celebration

India’s 72nd year of independence was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and fervour at Springfield School on the 15th August, 2018.

The national flag ‘Tiranga’ was hoisted by the Principal, Mr. Keith Rose, followed by the National Anthem. He conveyed the meaning of true independence to the students. “With independence comes the responsibility to lead an honest and principled life which we, as leaders of tomorrow, must never comprise upon”, he said.

This was followed by the cultural programme by the students. The spirit of patriotism reverberated in the entire school as the students sang “Ae Watan mere” and “Rise India Rise”. A classical dance on the song “Kar har maidan fateh” and Indo-western dance performances on the songs “Badal pe paun hain” and “Save our Mother Earth” were presented by the students, awakening our spirit of patriotism and the feeling of loyalty towards our country. Sweets were then distributed to the students.

Teacher’s Day

In memory of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, who is known for his contribution to the Indian education system, 5th September, his birth anniversary, is celebrated as Teacher’s Day to recognise and appreciate teachers in India. Springfield School, in its own unique way, honoured its teachers by organising an entire day of celebrations wherein the teachers participated in a plethora of fun-filled activities like Fusion Dance, Classical Dance, Indian and Western song performances, games stand – up comedy and mono-acting. The teachers were treated to refreshments and a sumptuous lunch as they relaxed and had a good time. To wrap up the day, the teachers vowed to carry out their responsibility of impacting young lives by keeping themselves abreast of the new teaching learning techniques to cater to the needs of each student.
